Slotting Management is an advanced module within our WMS system enabling customers to achieve vastly greater operational throughput and efficiency by appropriately placing stock in optimal locations throughout the warehouse.

Key Features/Benefits:

There are two types of “slotting” offered within the WMS:

Custom — A set place in the warehouse where the product will always be slot (putaway) to.

Define the initial building where the stock will first originate from.
Define the final building where the stock will be put to after the product has been received to the warehouse.
Define where in the warehouse by area to put the stock away to.
Define what unit of measure is accepted to putaway stock.

Profile — A pre-set name to slot (putaway) stock based on where in the warehouse will be the fast/medium/slot moving stock in the warehouse.

Define the initial building where the stock will first originate from.
Define the final building where the stock will be put to after the product has been received to the warehouse.
Define where in the warehouse by area to put the stock away to.
Define what unit of measure is accepted to putaway stock.

Velocity Management

Velocity Management is key module within our WMS system, which works in conjunction with Slotting Management. It gives the user the ability of scheduling when slotting (putaway) needs to be changed and or re-assigning forward pick locations per product.

In order to successfully use our Velocity Management tool, product (sku) in the WMS system must have a slot (putaway) profile setup. Based on velocity during a calendar year, predictions can be made as to where in the warehouse is best to place the stock. There are two forms to our Velocity Management tool, which are:

Velocity by Putaway — where the user can schedule or change by hand the putaway profile for any given product based on forecasts of shipping for a given time period. You determine what time period that will be, and WMS will take that into consideration.

Velocity by Forward Pick — where the user can change the Forward Pick locations based again on forecasts of shipping for any given product that has a Forward Pick Location defined to another product with no Forward Pick Location defined.

Key Features/Benefits

Velocity by Put-away

Displays a list of all SKUs (product) with a Profile.

Displays a list of all SKUs that have a shipped quantity during a certain time period in days.

Ability of changing a SKUs (product) profile by hand.

Setup a percentage of what is the hi/medium/slow movers for a given historical period of time.

Based on the percentage setup the WMS automatically changes a SKUs (product) profile.

Velocity by Forward Pick

Displays a list of products and their ship quantity that has an assigned Forward Pick for the given building/area/owner defined.

Displays a list of products and their ship quantity that does not have an assigned Forward Pick for the given building/area/owner defined.

Ability to re-assign Product from one Forward Pick to a Product with no Forward Pick.

Upon re-assigning, user defines all Forward Pick attributes (i.e., pick multi, pick minimum, pick maximum, reorder point, reorder quantity, max units, etc).
